About us

In 2016, while enjoying a cup of coffee, the mayors of Basel, Bern, Biel/Bienne, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Lucerne, St.Gallen, Winterthur and Zurich came up with the idea of a new kind of Expo, and commissioned a project proposal shortly thereafter. NEXPO was born.

Convinced of the social significance and power of NEXPO, the ten cities founded the association "NEXPO – the new Expo" in 2018.

NEXPO aims to inspire and move people. It will evolve over the coming months and years in conjunction with the future NEXPOnauts: a unique constellation that will allow for unprecedented diversity.
