The initiative led by the ten largest Swiss cities for a new national expo is called NEXPO, because it will come in a completely new format. It will be sustainable, forward-looking and above all decentralised.
Never before has a national expo been held throughout Switzerland. NEXPO wants to take this step forward: it will be held in cities, in the countryside and in the mountains. NEXPO will address the current issues of its time, contribute to overcome differences and strengthen national cohesion.
The expo will reach its climax in 2032 and will create a buzz throughout Switzerland.

NEXPO is not a classic national expo held at a single location. Instead, it links cultural initiatives throughout Switzerland, in all its language regions, in cities, suburbs and the countryside. It builds bridges between the centre and the periphery and provides places for the population to meet up.
For the first time, NEXPO is being extended to the whole of Switzerland.
