A new national expo for the whole of Switzerland

Our diversity – and the will to keep finding ourselves within it – shapes Switzerland. It is the foundation of our national cohesion. Yet this cohesion cannot be taken for granted; least of all today. What connects us must be renegotiated, experienced and felt anew, again and again.

This is why Switzerland needs a new national expo: a nationwide celebration, federalist in spirit, broadly supported, developed in a participatory way, planned in a financially responsible manner and sustainable at its core. An invitation to look ahead together – and to reaffirm that what matters most is our feeling of togetherness, of being one single “us”.

NEXPO, an expo for the whole of Switzerland

A national expo is a shared experience for people across the whole of Switzerland, and therefore strengthens our sense of togetherness and our national unity. It is an important investment in what holds our country together at its core. And that is precisely why it is needed today more than ever.

NEXPO enjoys a broad support

Our project enjoys broad approval: many members of the National Council and the Council of States support its principles, and important voices from the cantons, towns, municipalities, business, culture and society stand behind us.

NEXPO is sustainable and feasible

NEXPO takes place in existing infrastructure, in all four language regions and can be implemented cost-efficiently and sustainably. A new form of national expo – feasible and responsible.

NEXPO at a glance

NEXPO builds on a new form of national expo: designed in various parts of the country, sustainable at its core and created together with the public. A wide range of experiences along routes in eight regions of Switzerland will take place using existing infrastructure and keeping costs low. During NEXPO the population of Switzerland will act both as hosts and as guests. The event places the cohesion of Switzerland at its heart.
